Furthermore it includes the ABAC Data Warehouse (in-house developed using Oracle database and SAP Business Objects reporting) and a middleware (SAP PI service bus, Oracle service bus).
The Directorate General for Budget (hereinafter BUDG) supervises the continuity and reliability of ABAC, plans the future evolution of ABAC, strives for its continuous improvement and ensures the compliancy with the Financial Regulation1 and Accounting Rules.
As detailed in the business case on the modernisation of the corporate finance system, BUDG will modernise ABAC to come to a new single Finance Platform based on S/4HANA (hereinafter S4H), this project is code-named SUMMA (originally ABAC2).
Implementing this platform will help BUDG to make its financial IT landscape futureready, improve its user experience, increase its capacity to process data and strengthen control of available data, raise cost-effectiveness, support reliable, consistent and timely information, and allow for predictive analytics and flexible modifications - whilst driving system robustness and business continuity.
However, the success of this implementation relies greatly on the adoption of S4H's standard processes and industry best practices by keeping any customizations or developments to the bare minimum.
The program is structured in multiple phases following the SAP ACTIVATE methodology and the objective of this contract is to provide IT services and support for the overall architecture of SUMMA, the Solution Design and the Realize phases.
The resource is to work in the accountancy area, IT, SAP-minded area of DG BUDG – EuropeanCommission.
